The Washington Media Scholars Foundation (WMSF) engages with undergraduate students, connecting deserving young people with senior-level executives from major media companies and providing hands-on experience, networking opportunities, and financial support to students pursuing degrees in a media, communications and public policy.
The Media Scholars Media Case Competition is a multi-round event where students compete on the national level, and finalists earn a week-long, all-expenses networking and professional development experience in Washington D.C. Student finalists compete for the National Excellence in Media Award and $18,500 in scholarships.
The essay-based Media Fellows scholarships, awarded annually, provide support to students demonstrating a combination of merit and financial need. In 2024, 90 students were awarded Media Fellows scholarships totaling $135,000.

In 2024 WMSF Awarded $165,000 in scholarships to 113 undergraduate students and welcomed 12 Media Scholars to Washington, DC for a week-long, all-expense paid networking experience.
